Research

Research at the University of Michigan Department of Biomedical Engineering is conducted in three state-of-the-art facilities and our faculty and students have access to a wide variety of biomedical labs and research facilities throughout the College of Engineering and the Medical School. The BME department is the home of the NIH-funded Center for Neural Communication. BME has the sixth-highest total research expenditures and the third-highest research expenditures per faculty member of any Biomedical Engineering department in the country.
